During this year's gamescom Opening Night Live presentation, Tripwire Interactive announced the third installment in its flagship series. Killing Floor 3, as that's the game in question, is headed for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The title does not yet have a release date.
Killing Floor 3 will take players to the year 2091. In a dystopian world, the megacorporation Horzine has created an army made up of a dedicated host of bioengineered monsters called "Zeds." These monstrous creatures are the result of advanced genetic experiments designed to create reliable soldiers. However, the result has surpassed the company's wildest expectations, leading to creatures with unpredictable abilities and a lust for destruction.
Only a rebel group called Nightfall will be able to stand up to this bioengineered horror and fight for the future of humanity. Players will be tasked with joining the resistance and facing off against fearsome enemies to save the world from impending disaster.
