Josef Fares May Announce Remake of His Award-winning First Game [Update: Trailer]
Josef Fares' first game may soon be getting a refresh. That's according to a well-known tipster, but that's not the only thing that points to the return of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.
Update
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake was announced as the first game at The Game Awards 2023. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can watch below.
Original news (December 6)
The upcoming The Game Awards 2023 gala will not be without big announcements. Presumably, among them will be remake of the iconic Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which may be shown at this year's TGA.
The source of this news is billbil_kun (via X / Twitter), who has reported verified information many times in the past. The credibility of the report also seems to be confirmed by the game's official website, where a countdown has begun (via Insider Gaming). At least that was the case for a while, as the website is currently under reconstruction, which in itself suggests some action by the developers. It also prompted billbil_kun to say that perhaps the announcement will come sooner than he thought.
In the original post, the Internet user claimed that the refreshed Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is expected to be revealed "soon," and pointed to this year's The Game Awards as an event where an announcement could be made. The title will reportedly be released by 505 Games, but billbil_kun was unable to specify when the game's release will take place.
It's worth noting that the countdown on the game's official website was supposed to end today, which is before TGA 2023, with the gala set to begin at 4:30 p.m. PT on December 7.
However, it should also be noted that Josef Fares - the main creator of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - is a frequent guest at The Game Awards gala (which is hard to forget, as he became famous with his uncompromising statements). He now has his own studio, with which he has created, among other things, the warmly received It Takes Two. One might expect, then, that Fares would be the one to announce a remake of the title with which his adventure in the game industry began.
