Today GTA Vice City celebrates its 22nd birthday (the PS2 version debuted on October 27, 2002). More than two decades is an eternity in this industry, but there is still no shortage of gamers who regularly return to this game. This is easy, especially on the PC, where there is still quite a large fan community that improves this classic with mods. The biggest project of its kind, called Grand Theft Auto Vice City Extended Features, recently received a new version.

Let's start first with what Grand Theft Auto Vice City Extended Features is. It's a mod designed to give the game a general refresh. The modification tweaks the graphics, adds support for high widescreen resolutions, and fixes technical bugs. The biggest advantage, however, are the new features. The project introduces, among other things, gang wars over territories (modeled on those in GTA: San Andreas, as well as a mass of mini-games (including poker and blackjack) and additional weaponry.

The mod also improves the AI of NPCs, as well as refreshes the city map, giving us access to many previously closed objects, The modules responsible for the behavior of NPCs have also been heavily expanded. In addition to all this, a substantial set of new missions has been added, including those that allow you to play the role of a police officer.

In addition to bug fixes, the update has added more than 50 new vehicles, making the project offer a total of 225. The driving physics of 80% of them have also been improved.

The mod has been growing rapidly in recent times. Among other things, a Building Empire system has been introduced. There are 15 new building types that can be occupied, built a business, and the building shape can be chosen by the player. The interiors of these buildings also vary depending on the building type. A total of 5 new missions can be taken from these buildings. Loan Shark, Drug Trafficking, Robbery, Smuggling, Protection Racket and Pimping.

Overall Extended Features provides at least dozens of hours of fun with new elements and is an excellent mod for those who want to return to Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Finally, it should be added that the mod only works with the original version for GTA Vice City and is not compatible with the refreshed version of the game included in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition
