GTA Vice City will unofficially hit „new” platform. This will be even greater achievement than in the case of the third installment

Although the Dreamcast officially passed into the shadows many years ago, fans are not letting it die. After the successful porting of GTA 3 to this iconic Sega console, the next installment in the series - GTA: Vice City - has been brought to the workshop.

Some time ago we wrote about the port of GTA 3 to the Sega Dreamcast console. Although the game was originally released on PlayStation 2, the idea of porting it to DCA3 still lived in the hearts of fans who decided to implement it on their own.

We can play this fan-made project now (if, of course, we still have a working Dreamcast). However, the devs didn't stop there and decided to convert GTA: Vice City to the Sega console, and they recently boasted about the progress of the project on their YouTube channel.

Forever in our hearts

The whole thing definitely enlivened the community, which didn't skimp on words of admiration. Players primarily pay attention to the quality of workmanship, which is suggested by the material. In their opinion, Vice City on Dreamcast looks "surreal." However, the mere fact that the game runs on this console is probably the most interesting for many. Some fans are already dreaming of seeing San Andreas on Dreamcast as well - probably the most iconic installment of GTA released on PS2.

I'm not a big fan of Vice City, but I think it's surreal to see this game running on the Dreamcast, it's even more impressive than GTA 3.

Now it will be incredible if we ever get to see GTA San Andreas on it too, it would be really fun to see the PS2's most iconic game running on the Dreamcast - wrote MoonSarito.

Dreamcast getting so much love from the fans many years after its passing is so wholesome. It didn't win the console war, but damned if it didn't win our hearts - that's what user equanimity92 said about the platform.

As they say, "where one door shuts, another opens." Even though the market was less favorable to PlayStation 2's competitor, Dreamcast hasn't been forgotten and now enjoys a sort of "life after life." The library of titles available for it is constantly growing, and the console still has faithful and loyal fans.
