Hideo Kojima Met with Keanu Reeves. This Raised Fans' Hopes for Interesting Collab
Hideo Kojima held a meeting with popular actor Keanu Reeves. It is possible that we will see the Canadian in one of the Japanese developer's upcoming games.
Hideo Kojima posted on X a post with an attached photo, which reveals that he had an online meeting with actor Keanu Reeves. This information has caused quite a stir among fans, who are wondering about a potential collaboration between the two artists. It would result in the presence of a Canadian actor in the new game of the Japanese developer.
It's worth recalling that Keanu Reeves already has some experience with video games. He can be heard in the recently released Sonic x Shadow Generations and in the technology demo The Matrix Awakens. However, he is best known for his role as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077. By the way, Hideo Kojima also appeared in this game.
This is by no means the first meeting between the Japanese dev and the Canadian actor. We know that Reeves visited Kojima Productions in September 2019, two months before the release of Death Stranding. Even more intriguingly, in August 2023, Kojima posted photos on Instagram featuring Reeves and Norman Reedus, the actor portraying the main character of the game, Sam Bridges.
Even then, rumors emerged that the Canadian was supposed to appear in the upcoming sequel, but so far they haven't been confirmed. So it's no wonder that the latest post fueled them even more. Especially since the year before the announcement of the game OD, Kojima similarly posed with director Jordan Peele.
Let's remind that the next Kojima's game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5. The cast, which includes Elle Fanning, was recently revealed, and an impressive photo mode was also presented.
