During the Tokyo Game Show 2024 event, a special, over 90-minute panel dedicated to Death Stranding 2: On The Beach took place. Hideo Kojima, who was present at the event, showcased new materials from the game, including the actors portraying the characters.

New materials from Death Stranding 2

On X, we can find all the new materials divided into individual parts. The first video focuses on the characters of Dollman and Tarman. Fatih Akin plays Dollman, and George Miller (the director of the Mad Max films) plays Tarman. Interestingly, Kojima had previously spoken warmly about the director, even calling him "his god."

The second material reveals the characters Tomorrow and Rainy. The first one is played by, announced some time ago, Elle Fanning. The second one, however, is portrayed by Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna.

There will also be no shortage of returning characters, such as Heartman. The Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn will once again take on this role.

Photo mode

Death Stranding 2, like the first installment, will offer a photo mode, which promises to be one of the most extensive modules of this type in games. If you like taking photos of your favorite characters, you should be delighted.

At the end of the event, Kojima briefly addressed the game's release date, stating that it will be announced next year. He also conveyed that the "sequel" will be even stranger than the first part.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
