Fallout 5 Coming After The Elder Scrolls 6; Bethesda Confirms
Todd Howard confirmed that Fallout 5 will be Bethesda's next game after The Elder Scrolls 6. However, we will have to wait many years for the fifth installment.
Bethesda is planning Fallout 5. However, we will have to wait a long time for it.
- This information was revealed by the head of the studio Todd Howard in an interview with IGN.
- He stated that currently Bethesda is focused on finishing Starfield. The team's next project will be The Elder Scrolls VI, which is currently in pre-production. And the next game after TES6 is going to be Fallout 5.
So it will be many years before we see anything from the next part of the post-apocalyptic series. Work on Starfield began in 2015, and the release will take place in 2023, which means that work on the game will take 7-8 years.
It is possible that in the future Bethesda will change its work model so as to have two large teams working in parallel on separate games, but even in this case Fallout 5 is unlikely to be released this decade.
Fallout 4 was released in November 2015. Three years later, an online spin-off debuted in the form of Fallout 76. Bethesda recently announced involvement of third-party studios in the further development of the latter project.
The studio's next game will be Starfield. Initially, the production was to be released this year, but the release was postponed to 2023. The Elder Scrolls VI was announced four years ago, but the game is still in pre-production, which is a good illustration of the pace of Bethesda's big projects.
