eFootball Release Date and Roadmap
The free-to-play game eFootball will be available soon. Konami has revealed the release date of its new football game, as well as plans for the title's development.
Konami has revealed the release date for eFootball, the new incarnation of Pro Evolution Soccer. We will check out the free football game on September 30 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. We will also be able to play the title on mobile devices, but at a later (still unknown) date.
It should be noted that the September version of the game will not be rich in content. For launch, the devs confirmed nine clubs (FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal, River Plate, Corinthians, Flamengo and Sao Paulo) and six stadiums (Allianz Stadium, Emirates Stadium, Old Trafford, Camp Nou, Allianz Arena and eFootball Stadium). All of this will be tested in friendly matches against AI or other players, with online duels including missions with rewards.
Nevertheless, in the fall we will receive the first major update. Along with it the game will gain Creative Mode (enabling us to create our own teams) and cross-platform features (on release only owners of consoles from the same manufacturer will be able to play together).
In the winter Konami will introduce controller support on mobile devices, and later for features of the DualSense controller. The company is also preparing free and paid versions of Match Pass, the equivalent of battle pass known from online shooters. What's more, tournaments against AI, additional gameplay mechanics, etc. have been confirmed.
Even without new content, the game will not be just a poor relative of the existing football games from Konami. At least that's what the creators claim, who last week presented changes in this year's installment on a new trailer of eFootball. Digital bonuses were also announced for those who checked out the eFootball PES 2021 Season Update or the free eFootball PES 2021 Lite.
