eFootball 2022 Gets First Update; Konami Apologizes Again and Delays Version 1.0 to Spring

Patch 1.0 for eFootball 2022 will not be released - as announced - this year, but only next spring. Konami apologized to fans and ensured that the team is working hard to fix the game, which is proven by the released update 0.9.1, which eliminates some bugs.

Bad news for those who still believe in the success of eFootball 2022, the free-to-play model-based title from Konami. After the game's the terrible (mis)launch, representatives of the Japanese company bowed their heads and promised quick fixes. Today, we got a small portion of the latter and another apology along with the information, that the promised patch 1.0 will not be released this year, but only in the spring. Well, apparently the number really does mean something. A plan for further development of the game is also expected to be released soon.

As a sort of reparation Konami has released update 0.9.1 to fix some glitches and bugs. The full list of changes can be found here. It's not too impressive, but we can silently hope that it's a step towards something better. On the other hand, it's hard to think of a sudden change when you look at the (supposedly) eliminated problems - players suddenly disappearing, the shooter missing the ball, a referee getting stuck in the turf, or "unnatural emotions on players' faces" - which are particularly popular online.

Interestingly, Konami has also decided to cancel all pre-orders for the Premium Player Pack DLC and has ordered automatic refunds for those who have already decided to make a purchase. Considering that positive reviews on Steam constitute only 11% of the total number, there shouldn't be too many such (un)lucky people.
