GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition and eFootball 2022 were among the worst rated games of the year, according to Metacritic.

Metacritic data was used to create the list, and in the case of game available on several hardware platforms the results of all versions were averaged.

It probably won't surprise anyone to learn that the worst game of the year turned out to be eFootball 2022. The game had a a terrible launch, forcing Konami to issue an apology for its poor condition.

Among the titles with terrible reviews there is also Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. This remastered collection turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year. Its condition on PC was so bad that Rockstar Games had to pull this edition from sale for some time.

Also the Google Stadia exclusive PixelJunk Raiders fared rather poorely. This is surprising in that games from this brand so far have collected good reviews.

It is also worth noting the poor reviews of Balan Wonderworld, a new platformer from the creators of the Sonic series and NiGHTS Into Dreams.
