2021 Brought More Broken Records and Millions of New Players for DayZ

DayZ recorded another great year, as indicated by the statistics shared by the developers.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • DayZ devs have revealed some stats about their game;
  • It turns out that it enjoys unflagging popularity in 2021;
  • The title has even set several activity records.

Years pass, and DayZ does not lose popularity. Although the game is no longer so ever present, it continues to record very good activity results. It turns out that the year 2021, which is coming to an end, witnessed many successes of Bohemia Interactive's game. The creators have shared some stats.

In a post published on the game's website, we read that in the current year DayZ set two activity records. The first reason to celebrate appeared in January, when the game was launched simultaneously by 45,878 people. The result was improved in November - the new record is 46,081 players at the same time.

Moreover, in January this year the game was launched by 26,336 people on average, which is the best monthly result in the game's history. From the beginning of the year to November DayZ also attracted 3.5 million new players. The game's popularity can also be seen on Twitch, where in July, 291,734 people watched the related broadcasts.

The influx of new players also means more cheaters. More than 30,000 people were banned in DayZ, which is a 25% increase compared to last year. Fortunately, there are also much more positive manifestations of player activity. They are involved, for example, in the creation of mods. Within the year more than 12 thousand of them were made available online, which means a 30% increase compared to 2020.

As you can see, the creators DayZ have nothing to complain about. The game enjoys high popularity, which is certainly influenced by regular updates and special events. It remains to wish the developers are able to maintain this trend also in 2022.
