Update (October 15)

Bohemia has released a full list of changes for the PC version of DayZ and for the console edition.

Original message (October 15)

DayZ debuted in Early Access back in 2013, and we had to wait almost 5 years for version 1.0. Today the game is in a great place and it gathers a large number of players in front of monitors every day. Suffice it to say that over the last 24 hours, at its peak, over 45,000 people were playing it at the same time (via SteamDB).

It is very possible that this number will increase significantly in the near future, as the latest expansion for the game, titled Frostline and with it update 1.26, will launch today.

  1. On PC, the game servers will be launched at 2:00 PM CET.
  2. In the case of the PS4 and XOne console versions, it will be 3:00 PM.

DayZ: Frostline - details of the DLC

The expansion will take us to the snow-covered Sakhalin Archipelago with an impressive area of 83 square kilometers. There we will have to face not only the infected and other players but also the equally dangerous environment.

However, the DLC will offer much more, and among the other features that can be mentioned are:

  1. more difficult challenges than before;
  2. lusher wilderness;
  3. new gameplay mechanics – diseases, reworked fishing, boats and more;
  4. winter cosmetic items.

DayZ: Frostline priced at $26.99. It is worth adding that this is one of the reasons for the cold reception of the DLC's announcement.

Below, however, you can watch a video with first gameplay impressions, which was prepared by a content creator known as TheRunningManZ.
