The takeover of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is one of the biggest events in the gaming industry in recent years. It is therefore not surprising that a very long time passed before it was finalized, and many obstacles arose along the way. One of them was a lawsuit that gamers filed against the Redmond giant, and its official conclusion has just been announced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both sides notified the court on Monday of an agreement to dismiss the case without the possibility of refilement. However, the terms were not disclosed, and the lawyers agreed that "each party will bear its own costs and fees."

Let's recall that the lawsuit was originally filed back in December 2022 by a group of American players. They feared that the takeover of Activision could lead to Microsoft's monopoly in the gaming market. The case was dismissed in March 2023. but it was re-submitted in April, this time with more information and documents.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the only case of this type that gamers have brought against Microsoft. Such a situation occurred again in May 2023 in California, and the main reason was also a violation of the antitrust law. The district judge, however, quickly decided to dismiss this lawsuit, as it was not demonstrated how the transaction would harm the players.
