Creator, Who Has Been Working On Role-Playing Games for 27 Years, Says He Has Never Been More Confident About Upcoming RPG
Dennis Presnell has been working on RPGs for 27 years and has always felt stressed before an upcoming release. However, in the case of Avowed, he is exceptionally calm.
Avowed is currently one of the most anticipated RPG games. This shouldn't come as a surprise, considering it was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the developers of highly praised titles such as Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity. Big releases naturally bring a lot of stress to devs, but one of them is exceptionally calm about the upcoming title.
We're talking about Dennis Presnell, who has been working on RPGs for 27 years. He usually works as an environment artist and has contributed to titles such as Fallout 1 and 2, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, and Planescape: Torment. In 2003, he moved to Obsidian Entertainment, where he worked on The Outer Worlds, the previously mentioned New Vegas, and Pillars of Eternity.
The developer has a lot of experience and knows how much emotion accompanies the release of a highly anticipated game. Typically, a few months before the release, he feels nervous. Interestingly, in the case of Avowed, he is very calm and confident.
I always feel a certain level of apprehension and nervousness. But just At this stage of the project, my confidence this time is unprecedented. I’m ecstatic to see everything come together so perfectly. The team is now finishing the work, fixing bugs and optimizing performance. When this game is released to the public, I will be really proud of it. In fact, I can’t wait.
It's obvious that Presnell has great faith in Avowed's success and is convinced that the studio has developed a great game. However, will the players share the same opinion? We will find out on February 18th when the game hits PC and XSX/S.
