Up to 254 Players Can Fight in This Alternative to Battlefield

An FPS capable of hosting 254 players on a single server, with low system requirements, not inconsiderable content at launch and developers nurturing communication with fans - this is what BattleBit Remastered, an immersive alternative to Battlefield, looks like.

If you are looking for an alternative to Battlefield series - with vehicles, small requirements and servers for up to 254 players - you should pay attention to BattleBit Remastered, debuting tomorrow, which has gathered quite a community around itself over the past months.

BattleBit Remastered - early access launch

BattleBit Remastered will debut in early access tomorrow, on i.e. June 15. The title will be available for purchase on Steam for $15.

BattleBit Remastered is a network FPS. The game draws on handfuls from Battlefields 3 and 4 - maps are huge and filled with vehicles (e.g., jeeps, helicopters, quads, boats), players choose from 6 character classes (including medic, assault, technician), there's an extensive weapon modification system, and - oh yeah - an impressive destruction model.

New features and 254 players on a server

The title also adds a lot from itself. Servers are capable of hosting as many as 254 players simultaneously on a single map (127vs127 mode), which may bring to mind the now-forgotten console shooter MAG (256 players). For comparison: the servers of Battlefields from the third game upwards supported a maximum of 64 players simultaneously. Only Battlefield 2042 raised that limit to 128 people.

Among the smaller news, it's worth mentioning that the game offers interesting mechanics. For example, we can drag the body of a fallen comrade who has just died to "resurrect" him in a safer place as a medic. Another feature is voice chat, which enables us to communicate with nearby soldiers, which is supposed to simulate actual conversation without the use of a radio. The developers also plan no microtransactions.

Large community

BattleBit Remastered will launch tomorrow in early access, but in the past the developers have more than once offered the opportunity to participate in open tests, a privilege that the players have gladly taken advantage of - a recent playtest (held June 10-12, 2023) saw a record of 30,000 concurrent users. The developers are eager to communicate with the game's not inconsiderable community via Discord.

BattleBit Remastered - system requirements

The game features simple low-poly style graphics. In the description on Steam the developers promise that the title will offer "exhaustive optimization, with a high frame rate." Therefore, most computers, including laptops, should be able to handle BattleBit Remastered.
