Only a Handful of Players Reached Level 100 in Diablo 4
We learned more interesting stats about Diablo 4. For example, we know the number of players who have reached character level 100 in Blizzard's game.
Blizzard Entertainment has shared a handful of interesting stats from Diablo 4.
- During the first week after the release, only 6263 players reached level 100.
- Only 163 people developed their character to level 100 in hardcore mode.
- These are low numbers considering the popularity of the game - Diablo IV recorded the best launch in Blizzard's history, generating in five days 666 million dollars in revenue. The studio did not give the exact number of copies sold, but estimates are around 9 million copies. Thus, level 100 was achieved by less than 0.1% of players.
- Such a result becomes less surprising when we consider the specifics of the gameplay mechanics. After reaching level 50 (which is usually achieved by completing the campaign), the pace of development slows down a lot. Many players complain that getting higher levels requires tons of grind, so it's not surprising that the vast majority of fans didn't manage to reach "the 100" in the first week.
- The slow pace of progression may become a problem, moreover, when the next seasons start coming out, because each will require reaching level 100.
Other stats from the first week of Diablo IV
It is also worth recalling other data released by Blizzard.
- Players spent 276 million hours in Diablo IV.
- 2.73 billion monsters were killed.
- 166 million parties were created.
- Players have died more than 316 million times during the campaign and just 429,000 times in PvP, which shows that most people are currently busy with the story mode. The competition with other people is not very popular for now.
- The most popular character class is the Wizard.
Diablo 4 was released on June 6, 2023, simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Those with more expensive editions could start playing on June 2.
