Baldur's Gate 3 has Another Important Steam Achievement to Unlock
Baldur's Gate 3 has some truly impressive results to its credit. However, there is still one milestone missing from the account of this RPG. Will Steam users help achieve it?
Despite the fact that it has only been a little over a week since the release of Baldur's Gate 3, the game by Larian Studios is already among the most popular titles on Steam. All thanks to the numbers that the game "cranks out" on Valve's platform. Although they are amazing, in some fields there is still room for improvement.
This includes the number of active players. The current all-time record is 814,666 people and brought BG3 the ninth spot on the list of the most popular games in the history of Steam - just behind Hogwarts Legacy.
Promptly, one Baldur fan decided to mobilize the entire Reddit community to collectively reach a staggering one million simultaneous players this weekend. Such a result would allow the RPG to rank alongside such games as Cyberpunk 2077 or Dota 2.
"I urge everyone who has bought the game and plans to buy it. The time has come for us to bring Baldur's Gate 3 to legendary status, surpassing 1 million concurrent players on Steam...
BG3 has already reached 814,466 in its first weekend, and I think we can improve on that figure....
So, this Saturday, August 12, from 12:00 PST [9:00 p.m. PST - ed.] to 7:00 PST [4:00 a.m. CET], let's all log on to BG3...," the message reads.
While many players were determined to play Baldur's Gate 3 this weekend, according to SteamDB they failed to meet the target in question - at most 791,966 people played the game. This may have been influenced by different time zones and the fact that the player's proclamation did not reach all fans of the title.
Nevertheless, the entire campaign cannot be written off yet. The gaming community has already proven many times that it is capable of great things. And even if the goal is not realized, the game will still be remembered for years to come.
