Amazon May Not Deliver Our Preordered PS5 on Launch
Amazon sends out e-mails to customers who have pre-ordered PlayStation 5 to inform them that they may not receive their console on launch. The problems of the American giant mean that it may also be very difficult to purchase Sony's new platform from other retilers.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Amazon informs people who have submitted a pre-order on PS5 that they may not receive the console on the day of its release;
- Problems of such a large retailer are not a good predictor of hardware availability to other places.
The well-known Amazon store informs its customers who have pre-ordered their PlayStation 5 console that they may not receive it on the day of release. The reports are based on e-mails sent to users (confirmed to be authentic by The Verge).
The fact that a giant like Amazon sends similar messages to customers indicates that other stores may also have serious problems with the availability of Sony's ninth generation console. The information coincides with reports from a few days ago, when we wrote about the huge interest in PS5 and problems with pre-orders. In some stores the console was sold out before you could say "I've got it," and there were trouble at all retailers. It is worth noting that in some shops the devices are put into the offer in batches, so in theory we still have some chance to buy our copy before the launch.
As a reminder, PlayStation 5 will launch November 12 for $499 ($399 for the version without Blu-ray drive).
