Minecraft Dungeons: Comparison to classic version - similarities, differences
This page compares Minecraft Dungeons with classic Minecraft. You will learn the similarities and differences between the two productions.
Similarities
The classic Minecraft and Dungeons have little in common. The main feature shared by both productions is the retro-styled visuals. Both games also share the same opponents like Creepers, Zombie and Spiders.
Differences
Unlike classic Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons doesn't place an emphasis on freedom of building and exploration. Instead, it focuses on plot and combat. The title is more closely related to the hack'n'slash and dungeon crawler genres.
Minecraft is actually one big sandbox that doesn't limit you in any way - you create your own goals. In Dungeons, on the other hand, you are in a semi-open world, where you fight against opponents, perform story quests, and discover various secrets.
Perspective is also different. In Minecraft, the game is observed from the first-person perspective. Dungeons presents action from an isometric view.
