Mashinky features an interesting chain of production and earning various tokens. The goods themselves are worthless until you process them into tokens in factories. Each object has a default production value, but it can be increased together with productivity by buying upgrades. Remember that the upgrades use space around the object - you should leave some space for expansion.

There are three types of industrial objects that generate resources in the game:

  1. Plants. They create resources required for production of other goods and tokens. Examples: Coal mine, iron mine.
  2. Processing plants. Here resources are transformed into semi-finished products, for example planks are created from wood. Sometimes a few components are required, for example to create metal ingots you need coal and iron. You still won't receive anything from processing these, but now you can transport them to a factory.
  3. Factories. The end of the chain of production. Here you change goods/semi-finished products into tokens. The exchange ratio is usually unfavorable until you create upgrades.

The majority of plant upgrades are focused on increasing resource production.

Each plant can receive a few upgrades. For some of them you must pay only in green tokens. They enable you to quickly increase resource production early in the game, without the need of adding new plants and building new tracks. Some upgrades require more green tokens and/or yellow, black or gray tokens. You should buy these upgrades for crowded plants and stations. Some upgrades can change your transport strategy of resources. For example, a mine can greatly increase coal production of you deliver planks to the station in its range and a forest can start a small coal production.

Processing plants also feature many upgrades - Plant and factory upgrades | Building and management - Building and management - Mashinky Game Guide

Processing plants also feature many upgrades. They not only increase the speed of resource processing, but they expand their usefulness as well. For example, sawmill can create toys from wood. Thanks to that some resources will be processed into green tokens instead into planks. Another upgrade can greatly increase the number of created planks if you deliver coal as well. This enables you to create a real industrial center.

Before you select a factory to which you will transport goods, check where you can gain more by building upgrades. - Plant and factory upgrades | Building and management - Building and management - Mashinky Game Guide

Factories, similarly to other industry branches, also use various upgrades. However, contrary to plants and processing plants, same upgrades differ in number of tokens that can be obtained from them. For example: you can construct a furniture workshop in each factory. It will cost 5 planks and provide you with yellow tokens. However, each factory has a different profit ratio. Depending on the building, the same number of planks will be processed into 2, 3 or 4 tokens. You should check which factory offers the best ratio and create connections with it.
