Rarity of cards in Legends of Runeterra Legends of Runeterra guide, tips
Last update: 30 January 2020
In Legends of Runeterra, the cards have been divided on the basis of their Rarity. To figure out to which group a particular card belongs, just look at the small sign at the bottom of each card.
The picture above shows a Common card. This is indicated by a green triangle visible at the bottom of the card - exactly in the middle, between the attack and defense points. Each card has been marked with the appropriate sign and color.
Common Cards
You can identify Common cards by their green triangle. Common cards can usually be found in chests, so you can quickly collect a large amount of them. Due to the frequency of occurrence they will often occur multiple times, which can be a bit annoying.
Rare Cards
Rare cards can be identified by a blue square. They have a higher value than Common cards and are available in a limited number in chests. As is the case of Common cards, most decks have a large number of Rare Cards.
Epic Cards
Epic cards have a purple mark and are extremely rare. They have a much greater value and are more powerful than the aforementioned Common and Rare cards. Some of the Epic cards are so dangerous that they can instantly destroy a selected enemy unit and even deal direct damage to an enemy Nexus.
Champions
Champions cards are marked with a gold color. They are most valuable both in terms of additional skills and in terms of collectible value. Champion Cards are hard to get and expensive to create, so it may take some time before you can get a decent set of those.
Spells
The spells, just like unit cards, are marked with a corresponding symbol and color. There are a few types of spell cards, namely: Common, Rare and Epic. The golden color has been reserved for Champions cards, so it's unavailable among spell cards.
In Legends of Runeterra, spells are divided into Slow, Fast and Burst. Each one of them is useful under certain conditions and fulfills a different task. It is worth knowing the characteristics of each spell in order to use it properly during a duel.
Slow spells
Slow spells are relatively slow - this means that their effect is not immediately triggered and they will take effect after one turn. Most importantly, Slow spells cannot be used during a fight so they are useless during an attack.
Fast spells
Fast spells are much faster and can be used during the fight as well as out of it. Most importantly, after casting such a spell, the opponent can react to it and use his own counterspell to cancel its effect.
Burst spells
Burst spells are the fastest, and their effect is immediate. This means that the opponent has no way of reacting to such a spell. Most importantly, after using the Burst spell, your turn doesn't end so you can still do some extra action.
