Short answer to the question - no. Layers of Fear, the latest game from the Polish studio Bloober Team and the next part in the popular horror series, doesn't have any multiplayer functionality - whether in the form of co-op or competitive multiplayer.

Gameplay

The production strongly focuses on accents straight from psychological horror. It tells an personal story centered around the tragic fate of heroes broken by their fate and an unpleasant past. The plot is presented in a very linear way. The narrative nature of the production manifests itself in, among other things, the fact that the game, like a theater play, is divided into acts. These, are divided into chapters to which we can freely return by selecting the appropriate option in the main menu of the game.

The experience of playing the game will also be determined by your performance. As a player, you will play a specific role, sharing their joys and sorrows with the characters. At some level, you'll be able to influence their fate by strategically choosing the right paths that will lead to one of several possible endings.

All of these features combined with a surreal, real-time dynamically changing area make Layers of Fear a textbook example of a single-player game. So, if you're looking for a completely different experience to share with other players, the latest installment of the famous horror series probably won't meet your expectations.
