Originally known from the Inheritance expansion, the story tells the fate of the daughter of the unfortunate painter from Act One. On this page of the guide you will learn how to pass this part of the game.

After mant tears, the now-adult daughter of the mad painter from act one returns to her dilapidated family estate. There, she must face the demons of her past and decide how to deal with her difficult experiences.

Heritage
You'll take control of the heroine when she reaches the crumbling ruins that was once her home. The estate is shrouded in darkness, so use the flashlight assigned to the right mouse click.
The daughter's flashlight, unlike the painter's lamp, cannot overheat. Use it as much as you'd like.
The plot in the Daughter's Story is mostly shown through the protagonist's interactive flashbacks. Each is displayed when exploring a new room. You can visit the rooms in any order, and viewing enough of the flashbacks will unlock the final room where the ending awaits.
During most flashbacks you'll need to make a choice. These choices will affect your ending.
Kitchen
The kitchen, a room to the right from the entrance, features a short, non-interactive flashbacks related to the family dog.
Basement
The door opposite the house entrance leads to a staircase. The staircase leads to the basement. Entering it plays a short flashback of your father playing the piano. Interact with him to end the memory.
Workshop
Entering the workshop marked with red paint (to the left of the basement door) will activate one of the longer flashbacks. You'll need to paint a picture using paint or crayon.
Choosing the former activates a short sequence, in which you must search for more paint needed to complete the work.
Choosing crayon activates a linear sequence of childhood dreams, in which you must go down a linear path.
Pantry
The pantry is a small room under the stairs. Entering it activates a short flashback sequence. You can either lock the door to hide from your furious father or wait for him to open the door.
First floor
Go upstairs and approach the couch located opposite the stairs. In the activated flashback you'll interact with the dog, either ignoring it or getting it to get off the couch.
Office
The flashback in the office is one of the longer ones. As a small child, you must go down successive corridors and rooms, performing simple tasks.
First, you must play a simple melody by tapping the piano keys. After your first, unsuccessful attempt, you'll hear your mother asking you to find the crayons (they're in a nearby dresser), which will help you succeed, as colors and symbols will appear on the keys. You can now match them to the combination on the music sheet.
The second task is to find three ripped portrait pieces. Walk down the successive corridors to find them all.
The last task is to fix a broken toy cat. The tail is right next to it. To find the wheel, first use the cork lid on the table. When the toy rejects the gift, head towards the bookshelf where the missing wheel will appear. Pick it up and give it to the cat.
It will start going down the corridor, letting you cross a dark room alongside it.
Several linear sequences later, the flashback will end.
Child room
In the daughter's room (at the end of the short corridor to the left of the stairs) you'll need to pose for a portrait. During the father's story, the camera will start to pan in different directions. Either try to keep staring at the canvas or let the game guide your gaze elsewhere.
Musician room
In the mother's room (to the right of the stairs) you'll see a short flashback of your grieving mother. Either activate the gramophone inside the room or let her suffer in silence.
Final room
After visiting enough rooms, a short animation will trigger, showing the door. This means you've unlocked the end point. The once-closed room is next to the mother's room, on the first floor, to the right of the stairs. Enter the room to activate the ending sequence.
