Case Closed
On this page of our guide to Heavy Rain, we explain the requirements for unlocking the Case Closed epilogue. This is one of the most positive endings for Norman's character, who deals with the origami killer.
This epilogue assumes that Norman becomes a hero after he deals with the origami killer. In addition, we learn from the epilogue that he quits his addiction. Requirements for getting this ending:
Norman must determine the location of the warehouse in the scene Solving the Puzzle or receive a call from Madison with information about the warehouse in the Killer's Place scene.
Norman comes to the crime scene (alone or with other characters) and wins the fight with Origami Killer during the Old Warehouse scene.
Resignation
On this page of Heavy Rain Game Guide, we explain the requirements for unlocking the Resignation epilogue. This is one of the most negative endings for Norman's character, because he decides to leave the ranks of the FBI.
This epilogue assumes that after difficult experiences Norman decides to resign from FBI. Requirements for getting this ending:
Norman does not establish the true identity of the killer in the Solving the Puzzle scene or accuses the wrong person. Consequently and doesn't come to the crime scene.
Shaun was rescued in the Old Warehouse scene with the following assumptions:
- Madison comes to the crime scene and wins the fight;
- Ethan comes to the crime scene and wins the fight;
- Both Ethan and Madison come to the crime scene.
Norman cannot die in the following chapters: Mad Jack, Fish Tank, Solving the Puzzle.
Uploaded
On this page of Heavy Rain Game Guide, we explain the requirements for unlocking the Uploaded epilogue. This is one of the most negative endings for Norman's character, because Norman dies.
This epilogue assumes that Norman dies in the course of an investigation. Blake receives his glasses and dresses them, moving for the first time to a virtual reality where Norman's "spirit" appears. The conditions for obtaining this epilogue:
Norman must die at any stage of the game - Mad Jack, Fish Tank, Solving the Puzzle or Old Warehouse (in the strict finale).
Smoking Mirror
On this page of Heavy Rain Game Guide we explain the requirements for unlocking the Smoking Mirror epilogue. This is the most negative ending for Norman's character, who overdoses drugs and fails to save Shaun.
This epilogue assumes that Norman falls into cybernetic world of ARI and then he overdoses drugs and dies. Requirements for getting this ending:
Norman does not solve the puzzle in the Solving the Puzzle scene and doesn't come to the crime scene.
Shaun wasn't rescued in in the Old Warehouse scene. The possible causes of a boy's death are:
- Madison comes to the crime scene and loses the fight;
- Ethan comes to the crime scene and loses the fight;
- Neither Madison nor Ethan reached the crime scene.
It is important that Norman does not die in any of the chapters preceding the Old Warehouse, and these are: Mad Jack, Fish Tank, Solving the Puzzle. The epilogue will show him while using ARI glasses and then dead after an overdose of drugs in a motel room.
