This page of our guide to Heavy Rain describes the Killer's Place scene. This is by default the penultimate scene where Madison manages to break into the home of Origami Killer. As expected, the reporter's life will be in danger.

Important: This chapter doesn't appear if Madison was killed in [The Doc] scene.

This chapter determines whether Madison will get to the crime scene. If you find out the correct password and survive - Madison will come to the [Old Warehouse] chapter. If at least one of these conditions is not met - Madison will die or she will simply not appear in the final chapter.

The owner isn't home - you can walk inside with no worries

Try to open the door. Then use your hairpin to open the lock. You can check the desk inside, but there's nothing important there. Walk to the wardrobe next to the desk. Open it, move the clothes and discover a hidden door. Enter the room and look around.

The closet with a secret passage is most important

he key object here is a laptop which can tell you the location of Shaun. Notebook password is "Max". You have four attempts. To type the correct password, first you need to pick any two from under any button (it will appear as third password under "X" for example). If you get it right or fail four times - Scott will come in.

Max - it is the correct password to the laptop. It will appear after one or two attempts of typing the password

Now you must escape from the room. Check the wall behind the laptop (especially on the left). Then pick up this big box. Turn around and head for the wall here. Hit the right side of the wall with the box. Make a hole and walk through it to the bathroom.

Walk around the flames. If you are set on fire your escape will take more time

Leave to the room. Walk to the armchair and flip it over. Then go along the tunnel between the flames until you reach the door. Continue like that in the next room, around the desk. Flip the locker here. Don't jump out of the window - you will die if you try that.

Enter the kitchen (white door). You can either hide in the fridge or use the window on the corner (behind the microwave). Select the fridge in order to get the Cold as Ice trophy. You will die if the pressure gauge goes up to the end before you do it.

Madison can die not only as a result of mistakes made while escaping from a burning room, but also as a result of deliberate action on your part. Her death is one of the requirements to unlock the Perfect Crime trophy, as part of which certain decisions are made throughout the game. You can simply not react when Scott appears and when the apartment is on fire.

After the blow, if Madison has survived and solved the password, you can call Ethan or Norman and share this info with them. If you are striving for the best ending, choose the character who did less well in the previous chapters (e.g. Ethan if he failed some attempts).
