An official sequel to the 2013’s sandbox action game by Undead Labs. The action of State of Decay 2 takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world after an outbreak of a zombie epidemic. While playing, we get a chance to led a group of survivors, each of whom has their own biography, skills, and character traits. We can freely switch between them while building a shelter, exploring the world, and searching nearby buildings for resources necessary for survival. Fighting zombies, we use various kinds of improvised weapons. The title features a character development system in which we can perfect our heroes by engaging in certain activities. Apart from the story campaign, the production offers an indefinite survival mode and a full-fledged multiplayer that allows up to four players to cooperate, each managing their own group.

The fourth major installment in the cult futuristic third-person shooter series and the debut of this Xbox-exclusive franchise on an 8th-generation platform. It was developed by The Coalition (previously known as Black Tusk), studio established by a long-time producer of the series, Rod Fergusson. Story-wise, Gears of War 4 is not a direct sequel to the original trilogy; instead, we assume control over a completely new pair of protagonists. The gameplay mechanics remained faithful to proved solutions, therefore the game is still a dynamic, linear shooter that puts emphasizes the use of covers. In addition, the title features a multiplayer mode, including a co-op mode which is one of the series hallmarks. The game’s visuals make full use of the Xbox One’s capabilities while retaining the grim atmosphere of its predecessors.

Forza Horizon 3

The third installment in a series of open-world racing games developed by Playground and initiated in 2012 as a spin-off of the popular Forza Motorsport console franchise. In Forza Horizon 3, the player participates in another edition of the titular racing festival. However, apart from the role of a racer here, the player also co-organizes the fest. The game is set in Australia and the map is twice as large as it was in the second installment. As usual, the game stands out mainly with a massive number of licensed cars available (350 in total) and those were recreated with great attention to detail. The game offers newest, exclusive car models. such as Lamborghini Centenario, but also a wide set of off-road cars and various buggies. An opportunity to complete the campaign in a 4-player co-op mode is the largest new feature Forza Horizon 3 comes with.

The second installment is co-developed by 353 Industries, which picked up the series after Bungie Software, and Creative Assembly primarily known for the extremely-popular strategy game series Total War. The plot of Halo Wars opens a whole new chapter in the universe, and supplements the original title’s story. During gameplay, you lead Spartans, Warthogs, and other classic units from the Halo series, into a brutal war against a new deadly enemy. Just like its previous part, the title focuses on quick and engaging gameplay which takes place on huge maps. The game includes extensive multiplayer, featuring dynamic PvP clashes.

A remastered edition of a famous Xbox 360 shooter game prepared for PC and the eight generation consoles by The Coalition Studio, which comprises largely of the creators of the original release. The game takes you back to the war-devastated planet of Sera, which fell victim to an invasion of an alien race, commonly known as the Locust. Playing as Marcus Fenix, a convicted deserter, you and your team are sent to stop the invaders. The game employs third person perspective. One of the key gameplay elements is the environmental cover system. As compared with the 2006 original, this product features noticeably improved, high-definition graphics. The story campaign was expanded by 5 extra chapters originally available only in the PC version. The list of innovations also includes new maps and play modes, 17 characters previously known from Gears of War 3, dedicated servers, and matchmaking system based on players’ skills.

Forza Horizon 2

A sequel to the bestselling racing game that was a spin-off to the flagship series of racing games developed for Xbox consoles. The title was developed by the creators of the previous entry: Playground Games (Xbox One version) and by Sumo Digital (Xbox 360 version). The new installment takes place in Southern Europe where another Horizon festival takes place. The festival is filled with good music and variety of racing challenges. Similarly as its predecessor, the title offers a large, open world where hundreds of licensed cars await the player. Similarly as the first entry in the spin-off series, the game offers a driving model that is slightly simplified in comparison to Forza Motorsport – it focuses mostly on making the races impressively looking. For the first time in the series the developers implemented a dynamically changing weather system which adds some realism to the races. The developers also added the Drivatars system known from Forza Motorsport 5, enabling the virtual drivers to gain experience even if they don’t participate in the game.

Crackdown 3

The third installment in a series of popular, open-world futuristic action games. Crackdown 3 introduces the franchise to the eighth-gen consoles. The game was created by Cloudgine – a British studio led by David Jones, who is the father of the series. Similar to the previous installments, the player is taken to a futuristic city of an open structure, assuming the role of a futuristic officer of the law who faces organized crime. The player has a wide variety of cutting-edge weapons and parts of equipment at their disposal, though in terms of the mechanics, the game follows the successful patterns of the predeceasing titles. As usual, the story campaign is an open-world experience here and it can be played in the co-op mode as well.

Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious

A stand-alone expansion to the bestselling racing game Forza Horizon 2. The expansion was developed by Turn 10 in cooperation with the creators of the film franchise Fast and Furious. Its main objective is to promote the seventh installment of this very popular movie series. In the game the player assumes the role of a driver hired by Tej Parker, a character known from the movies (played by Ludacris). He must deliver selected cars to his employer. The mechanics of the game are similar to the ones from the original Forza Horizon 2. The main difference is the option to use nitro during some races. The player can participate in series of races by using 10 cars from Furious 7 and previous movies. Among them there are Dodge Charger R/T, Nissan GT-R and Toyota Supra. Each car was recreated in detail based on the materials obtained from the creators of the film.

Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels is the second big DLC for Forza Horizon 3 developed by Playground Games. This time, the players can take part in races where they will drive Hot Wheels cars on crazy, twisted tracks. These are filled not only with launching pads, but also with speed boosters and spirals. The DLC comes with a new mini-campaign (including special challenges) and a dedicated location made of six islands connected by a network of roads. In Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels, players can drive the following vehicles: 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill, 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker, 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod, 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang, 2016 Jeep Trailcat, 2016 Zenvo ST1, 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38, 2010 Pagani Zonda R, and 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E49. The expansion features high-quality visuals but in terms style, they are much than what we could see in the base game. Everything, including the orange road panels, is colorful here.

Fruit Ninja Kinect 2

Another installment in the Fruit Ninja series and a sequel to the 2011 Xbox 360 Kinect game. The production, developed by Halfbrick Studios, was released for the next generation of Microsoft consoles and utilizes the much more advanced Kinect 2.0. The mechanics, however, remained unchanged. The gameplay consists of cutting through the fruits appearing on screen by using the right moves, which are transferred via Kinect to your TV screen. There are several game modes to choose from, and to succeed you have to move fast and perform spectacular combos, while at the same time you have to avoid occasional explosives.

Forza Horizon 3: The Blizzard Mountain

The first major expansion for the bestselling racing game, Forza Horizon 3, by Playground Games. The Blizzard Mountain takes us back to Australian roads and off-road tracks where yet another edition of the Horizon moto festival takes place. The most important element of the DLC comprises of fifty new events and challenges taking place in previously unavailable locations: on snow-covered mountain routes that, contrary to popular belief, can also be found in Australia. The game is enriched with three new gameplay modes: Hill Climb, Descent, and the eponymous Blizzard. The rich set of licensed cars from the vanilla game was expanded with seven new models, including a hidden one. All in-game vehicles can be equipped with winter tires that make driving in harsh, winter conditions significantly easier.

A dynamic action game developed by Japanese studio Platinum Games – known primarily for their successful slasher Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, a spin-off to a popular stealth game series. The game’s goal is to defeat a giant dragon who took over a magical realm. You get to explore a vast world that combines elements of science fiction and fantasy. While fighting your way through to the main boss, you face the dragon’s lesser kins – each one of them has unique abilities and requires using different tactics. In this dangerous quest you can use not only various melee weapons, but also the hero’s supernatural skills that give him an upper hand in fighting the huge reptiles. The core gameplay is based on spectacular action, which is quite similar to the previous games of the Japanese developer.
