The authors have made full use of the NBA League license, thanks to which we get all the teams, players and stadiums known from real tournaments. Among other things, artificial intelligence and Dynasty mode have been improved, which allows us to take over the management of one of the clubs and lead it throughout the season.

The authors improved the realism of the transfer market, the engine responsible for displaying matches, the news system, the design of all menus and tables, as well as introduced new leagues, the option of creating a virtual manager or playing training games.

Compared to the previous part, player behaviour, artificial intelligence, and new tactical development possibilities have been added. The 2017 edition introduces a slew of novelties, available only on the 8th generation consoles - PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
