An adventure-platformer featuring puzzle elements. It was developed by the Finnish Frozenbyte studio, known for Shadowgrounds - a series of isometric shooters. The story is set in a colorful fantasy world, where the player gets to lead a team of three characters: a wizard, a knight and a thief. Using a mysterious device called Trine, they must save the kingdom from the undead. The gameplay mechanics were inspired by classic platformers.

Rayman and his friends, Globox and Murfy, have to face the army of Hoodlums. As you play, you explore new, colorful locations, from beautiful, magical places to ruined areas inhabited by hostile creatures. Visually, the game looks better than the second installment — the textures and animations have been improved.

The action is observed from a camera placed in an isometric projection. The biggest novelty is three-dimensional graphics, but at the same time the graphics retains the humorous style of their predecessors.
