The resource is an alternative for the waning natural resources of Earth.

The main aspects of production that distinguish it from the previous parts are the MLB Today Season mode and the improvement of systems for controlling the situation on the pitch.

In Axiom Verge you play as a man called Trace, who dies and is reborn in a fantasy world, where futuristic and archaic technologies blend. Trace quickly asserts that the new environment and the beings inhabiting it are trying to kill him. The protagonist explores locations filled with traps and enemies as he runs, jumps, and shoots with a gun.
