WRC
Raised on foundations of excellent DiRT Rally series, WRC seemed certain contender to the title of the racing game of the year, after disappointing launch of Forza Motorsport. Sadly, what Codemasters released is another troubled title in need of patching.
The main pros of the game

- Sound Design: The audio quality, particularly the car sounds, received positive remarks for being immersive and well-designed.
- Customization Options: Players appreciated the ability to create and customize rally cars, although some noted the options were limited.
- Rally School Mode: This mode is seen as a good introduction for new players to learn rally driving techniques.
The main cons of the game

- Career Mode and UI: The career mode was described as confusing and lacking depth, while the menu UI was criticized for being uninspiring and poorly designed.
- Physics Inconsistencies: Some users felt the physics were not realistic, especially regarding grip and the handling of different surfaces.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Better Physics and Damage Modeling: Users suggested that the physics could be improved, particularly in terms of car handling during drifting and sliding, and that damage to the environment should be more realistic.
- More Customization Options: While there is a customization feature, players expressed a desire for more options to enhance their rally cars.
- Improved VR Support: Many players noted that VR performance was subpar and that support for various VR headsets was lacking.
- More Engaging Career Mode: Users wanted a more fleshed-out career mode with meaningful progression and challenges.
- Daily/Weekly Challenges: Some players missed the daily and weekly challenges that were present in previous games, which added replayability.
Summary
- In summary, EA SPORTS? WRC 24 has several appealing features, particularly in handling and sound design, but it faces significant criticism regarding performance, graphics, and overall depth compared to its predecessors. Users recommend it primarily for casual players and those looking for a new rally experience, especially if purchased on sale.

WRC Description
EA Sports WRC (or simply WRC) is an informal sequel to DiRT Rally 2.0 - the game changed its name (and part of its premise) when Codemasters took over the World Rally Championship (WRC) license from Nacon, who stopped releasing their rally simulators after WRC Generations from 2022. This let Electronic Arts add yet another prestigious form of motorsport, alongside Formula 1, to their portfolio.
Gameplay
Since the game was built on the foundations of DiRT Rally, it makes use of its mechanics, such as advanced physics and a large roster of cars from different ages of rallying. According to the creators, it is the most realistic rally simulator they have ever created - though its "dynamic driving system", many different options and assists make it suitable for less experienced players as well.
An important novelty is the designer mode, which lets us design our own car from scratch, choose the body, the engine, customize many different external and internal details, and the color. We can then use our machine to race in WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC class races.
There are over 18 locations to race at, 200 special stages with the total length of over 600 kilometers, with roads of different kinds. The game features areas from the current WRC season and some past ones.
There are 78 rally cars to choose from - 10 current models with authentic teams, drivers and colors (in Rally1, WRC2 and Junior WRC classes) and 68 other famous vehicles, such as the 1990s kit cars.
Game modes
Aside from singleplayer modes, including the career mode, there's also cross-platform online multiplayer for up to 32 people. The game features tournaments and special challenges recreating current or historical events from real rally races.
Technology
Codemasters have abandoned their Ego technology known from their previous rally simulators - EA Sports WRC instead makes use of the Unreal Engine. According to the developers, this let them create longer, more detailed tracks.

DiRT / WRC Series
Series DiRT is the direct successor to the series Colin McRae Rally, launched in 1998 by Codemasters. When in 2004 the series' patron Colin McRae abandoned WRC racing in favor of the Dakar Rally and the X-Games series, the developers decided to change the direction of its development, enriching the game with off-road rallies and increasing the range of available vehicles to include off-road cars, trucks and rovers. The new game also received a significant name DiRT.
