The official launch of EA Sports WRC is now behind us. The title was developed by Codemasters, studio to which we owe many great racing games.
Starting today, all players with high-octane gasoline flowing through their veins can take to the winding and dangerous curves with powerful rally cars in EA Sports WRC. The long-awaited release of the latest racing game from Codemasters has arrived (purchasers of preorders started playing three days earlier). The latest game by Codemasters is special, because it was developed using the World Rally Championship license.
- EA Sports WRC was developed for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
- The title was made available on all platforms today at 9:00 p.m. PS
- The game can be purchased digitally on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. The game costs $49.99 - regardless of the platform. Those wishing to do so can additionally invest in a VIP pass for Season 1.
EA Sports WRC - ratings and reception
Taking into account the ratings of industry journalists, Codemasters has once again delivered a quality product. Maybe the title is not one of the team's most outstanding, but it certainly provides many hours of great fun. On OpenCritic EA Sports WRC has an average rating of 83/100, and the game is recommended by 100% of reviewers (based on 11 reviews).. On Metacritic the average score for the PC version is 84/100 (also based on 11 texts)
Critics emphasize the fact that both new players and rallying experts will feel at home in the game.
Nevertheless, the game suffers from some teething problems - there are problems with optimization or technical errors, which, however, should be eliminated over time. Journalists turn a blind eye to such faults, considering that this is the first WRC game developed by Codemasters on Unreal Engine 5.
Gamers approach the subject differently. On Steam, the game gets "mixed" reviews - only 63% of the currently available 168 reviews are positive. Users complain about stuttering, lack of VR mode, poor driving physics.
