WRC 23 From Codemasters May've Been Delayed Internally
New leaks have surfaced online about the upcoming rally simulator, WRC 23. The game's release, although not yet officially announced, has apparently been delayed.
WRC 23 will be the first installment in this series of rally simulators to be developed by Codemasters, studio known for the DiRT series. While there isn't much official information about the game, credible rumors about it have surfaced on the web in the past. One of them was a possible release date, which is apparently no longer valid.
Informant billbil-kun posted a message on Dealabs about the new debut date of the racing game. He claims the premiere of WRC 23 will take place before November 1 - a specific date was not given. Recall that in March billbil-kun reported that the game is ready for debut. In turn, some time later he reported that WRC 23 will launch on July 28. If all these rumors are to be believed, the developers must have delayed the release, wanting to polish the game, for example.
WRC 23 will probably be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in two versions: the standard and the champions, which is expected to offer the basic game and the content of five seasons (reminiscent of the supposedly paid expansions that another Codemasters title received, DiRT Rally 2.0). billbil-kun also revealed a list of achievements that can be earned in the new WRC - there are 26 of them.
As for the gameplay modes, the informant detailed four:
- careers;
- championship;
- time trial;
- moments (it is not known exactly what it consists of).
It's worth recalling here that last year the well-known Tom Henderson - an industry journalist who is also known for providing reliable leaks - mentioned the alleged possibility of making a custom vehicle in WRC 23. One of the achievments suggests that such an option will indeed appear in the game. Moreover, it is expected to offer 16 different classes of cars.
Keep in mind that at this point the above information has not been officially confirmed.
