World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the ninth expansion pack to the popular 2004 MMORPG from Blizzard Entertainment - also known for the Diablo series or games like Hearthstone and Overwatch.
New race, character class and region
The expansion introduces a unique race of Dracthyr - humanoid dragons - which is temporarily paired with a new character class, the Evoker (summoner), specialized in inflicting maximum damage (DPS) or healing team members. Representatives of this race begin the adventure in the previously inaccessible Dragon Isles zone, which consists of four regions.
New to this zone is Dragon Riding, an expanded dragon flying mechanic (more advanced than the previously available method of moving on standard mounts). What's more, dragons can be customized and upgraded.
Plot
The story of WoW: Dragonflight doesn't focus on the threat from outer space - like the story of the previous expansion Shadowlands. Instead, the developers have taken on the classic fantasy theme of dragons. The story of the new expansion goes back ten thousand years and presents the fate of the five Dragon Aspects.
Game mechanics
With the release of the ninth full-fledged expansion to World of Warcraft, Blizzard Entertainment studio decided to refresh some elements of the game. The changes affected, among others, the system of talents - now we develop the main character class first, and then the specialization chosen for it. The progression and crafting systems were also enriched with new features. The interface has gained a few previously unavailable, useful elements.
The mechanics of accepting orders, which are of course plentiful in WoW: Dragonflight, have also been given a facelift. In addition, we face many unique monsters during our tasks. There are also several new dungeons and raids waiting for players, with powerful bosses to kill and valuable rewards to collect.
Experience points gained during battles are not wasted, as the maximum character level has been increased from 60 to 70 - after it was lowered from 120 in Shadowlands (characters with it were then assigned level 50).
