New WoW Update Will Add Anticipated Ancient Land
Update 10.2 will add a new land, called Emerald Dream, to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. It will also introduce raiding and a slew of attractions for dragon riders.
BlizzCon is fast approaching, as is update 10.2 for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight - titled Guardians of the Dream - which is scheduled to debut on November 7 (a week before the release of the third season).
It will add a new "fairy tale" land to the game, called Emerald Dream, with a giant tree at the center. Over the years, it has been frequently mentioned in the Warcraft universe, e.g. in various books.
Emerald Inception
This place exists outside the physical world and is to some extent shaped by the dreams of the entities inhabiting Azeroth. It is a representation of what the land would have looked like had it not been transformed by the actions of rational beings, such as clearing forests and building cities.
"The emerald dream is a reflection of the wild world. (...) While parts of this dimension are overgrown, wild, beautiful, flourishing, there are also parts where Fyrakk's forces have struck. It's a war-torn landscape," says Anne Stickney, senior narrative director of World of Warcraft.
Amirdrassil and 9 bosses
In addition to the new land, Guardians of the Dream will also introduce a raid called Amirdrassil, the Dreams Hope. It will launch on November 14 and will consist of clashes with nine bosses, as well as an "epic" chase on the back of a dragon.
Players will also get a new faction - The Dream Wardens, an event called Superbloom, as well as new dragon races, skills, customization options and a mount.
