For a while, it seemed that the famous MMORPG World of Warcraft might soon become part of Game Pass. However, Microsoft has already reacted to the graphics that were revealed.

One of the Reddit users noticed an interesting thing. According to the screenshots he shared, coming from an email received from Microsoft - preparations may be underway to introduce the iconic World of Warcraft to Game Pass. This title would also hit the consoles.

One of the mentioned screenshots shows a promotional slogan of the giant from Redmond, which reads: "Play Call of Duty, Diablo IV, World of Warcraft, and more of Activision's biggest hits with Game Pass!". The second screenshot presents the schedule for the "Plunderstorm" event. It returned to WoW on January 16, 2025, with PC and console icons.

Interestingly, the Xbox team quickly commented on the above revelations, explaining it as a mistake in the sent email. Even so, it seems quite probable that MMORPG will eventually be included in Game Pass, and for now, the company is merely attempting to maintain a positive front in a difficult situation. The alleged error seems too significant to be an actual mistake; the premature release of graphics was probably the only blunder.

Oops, this was our bad... Blizzard's World of Warcraft was accidentally included in a game pass email even though it's not available with the service - a correction email will be sent to those who got the original email soon!

If Microsoft really decided to include the discussed MMORPG in its flagship service, it would be a strong move to attract a larger number of customers. Especially if WoW would actually also hit consoles, on which it has never been available - only PC owners can still enjoy it.

World of Warcraft is currently available exclusively on Battle.net, which is owned by Activision Blizzard holding. You can also play games from the Diablo and Call of Duty series, as well as the soon-to-debut Avowed, there. Since Microsoft's acquisition of AB, some of these brands (such as Diablo IV) have started to appear on Game Pass, so it's possible that the popular WoW will soon be included in the subscription.
