The Sims 4: Cottage Living is another add-on to the popular life simulator released in 2014. As with other DLCs, it was developed by EA Maxis.
Mechanics
The Sims 4: Cottage Living does not introduce changes to the basic gameplay mechanics. Instead, the developers decided to implement additional content. The expansion will take players to a new environment - the rural town of Henford-on-Bagley.
The add-on places great emphasis on food gathering. Sims can get ingredients for dishes by growing them, buying them at the market or collecting them in the forest. A number of new animal species have also been implemented into the game - from llamas, through rabbits to foxes. Some of them live in the wild, while others need to be bred. However, with each of them you can interact and build relationships.
Apart from that, a number of new activities have also been added. Residents can do cross-stitch embroidery and organize picnic trips.
Technical aspects
The Sims 4: Cottage Living is a non standalone add-on and requires the base version of the game to work.
