March 26, 2015
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 is another installment of the third-person action game series that mixes the mechanics from the cult Japanese hack-and-slash Dynasty Warriors with the world of the popular One Piece manga. The game was developed by Omega Force and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The protagonist of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 is a pirate named Luffy whose biggest dream is to become the Pirate King. To achieve that, he has to gather a group of swashbucklers similar to himself and face the enemies that stand in the way of his dream coming true. Story Mode is made of a series of missions during which Luffy visits many places and meets characters known from the original manga. Like in every proper hack-and-slash, combat is the game's primary objective. We take part in epic battles with tons of enemies during which we use various cold steel weapons and magic. cancelled
A third-person perspective action game with beat ’em up elements, created by Bandai Namco Entertainment, based on Crows, a popular Japanese manga that tells a story of a group of high-school delinquents. The plot of the game rather faithfully recreates the events known from the comic and the movies based on it. We assume the role of Harumichi Bouya, who is transferred to an infamous high-school - the Suzuran All-Boys, infested by a gang of young bandits. As the city is filled with other, competing gangs, the metropolis becomes an arena of relentless struggle for power and position in criminal structures. When it comes to mechanics, Crows: Burning Edge is somewhat similar to the Yakuza series, marrying action elements with an adventure game plot. The main focus was placed on spectacular combat sequences, which earn us respect and build our prestige in the school society.

Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion
RPG
July 18, 2017
A side-scrolling jRPG with strong elements of classic beat'em up. Fallen Legion was developed by an American studio YummyYummyTummy. The game came out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita; the two versions differ mainly in terms of story. Fallen Legion is set in a fantasy world and the player is taken to the Kingdom of Fenumia, which falls from glory due to the king's premature death. His daughter (the protagonist in the PS4 version), tries to cope with the problem and goes on a long and dangerous journey in order to bring peace and safety to her subjects. This is obviously noticed by Legatus Laendur (the protagonist in the PSV version), who's lust for power makes him try to take control of Fenumia in her absence. The core of the experience is constituted by fighting enemies in a real-time combat system. The key to success is to make a good use of the individual abilities of the controlled characters, apart from being able to skillfully combine attacks of the entire team into complex combos; however, having quick reflexes is also needed. Furthermore, the player has to make more and less important decisions many times - those influence the course of the story and what the game world looks like. All of this is complemented by eye-pleasing, hand-painted 2D visuals.
