Crows: Burning Edge is a third-person action game with fighting elements, based on Crows manga which focuses on the adventures of young, angry teenagers. The title was developed by Bandai Namco Games studio on the occasion of the franchise's 25th anniversary.
Plot
The plot of Crows: Burning Edge recreates events known from the manga, animations and Crows Zero movie rather faithfully. The main character is Harumichi Bouya, who has just been transferred to Suzuran High School, which doesn't have a good reputation. The gang of juvenile bandits called Suzuran All-Boys leads the school. However, there are other competitive gangs in the city. As a result, this place becomes the arena of constant struggle for power and a position in the criminal hierarchy.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, the title resembles the Yakuza series, combining elements of action and adventure games. The main emphasis, however, was put on spectacular hand-to-hand combat. We spend most of our time in or around the school, getting to know other members of the Suzuran All-Boys group and building our prestige and respect in the school community. We can also participate in all of Harumichi's battles against, e.g. Hideto Bandou, Kunou Ryuushin, Tatsuya Bitou and Megumim Hayashida, also known as Rindaman.
Technical aspects
In terms of graphics Crows: Burning Edge, represents an average level, but with relatively low requirements, the game looks similar on both PS4 and PlayStation Vita. The whole, however, perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the manga original.
