PlayStation 2 is the 6th generation console from Sony and a successor to PlayStation (PSX). It was released on October 26th, 2000 in North America and less than a month later in Europe. It had 300 MHz CPU and 32 MB RAM. PS2 was in production up till 2013, despite the fact that in 2006 it was succeeded by PlayStation 3. With over 155 million units sold, it’s still the most popular console in the history of gaming industry.

An FPS set in a science-fiction world, created by the debuting American studio Valve Software. The story takes place in secret research facility of Black Mesa and begins the main character of the game – Gordon Freeman - arrives at the facility.
Unreal Tournament (1999)

A first-person shooter based on the engine of the bestselling game Unreal. The title was developed by Digital Extremes and focuses on online battles between players on futuristic arenas. In Unreal Tournament the players can compete in several gameplay modes – deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, domination, last man standing, and assault. Each mode is different from the remaining ones. There aren’t many weapons available, but each one can be used in two ways.
Call of Duty 3

The third main installment in the popular FPS series, Call of Duty. It is also the first game in the franchise (not counting the console spin-offs) that in the end was not released on PCs. In contrast to the previous installments, this time the game was developed by Treyarch – the authors of the console version of Call of Duty 2. The plot of the game once again takes place on various fronts of World War II. This time one can play as American, British, Canadian, and Polish soldiers.

A cyberpunk first-person perspective action RPG developed by Ion Storm, studio led by the legend of the video game industry, Warren Spector – co-creator of such cult series as Ultima and Wing Commander. Deus Ex takes place in the middle of XXI century, in a world filled with terrorism, corruption, poverty and a mysterious disease called the Gray Death.

In accordance with the title, the events of the World War II are observed through the eyes of Boyd Travers, a paratrooper of the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division.
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down

While developing Commandos: Strike Force, Pyro Studios decided to try a somewhat different approach, ending with a tactical action game seen from a first-person perspective instead of a classical tactical strategy game that the series has accustomed us to.
Call of Duty: World at War - Final Fronts

A spectacular first-person shooter (FPS) set during the Second World War. The game was developed by Treyarch, Activision’s subsidiary. It’s three-chapter campaign spans across the years 1942-1945, being set on Southern Pacific and the Eastern front. We observe the events from the perspectives of three soldier (two Americans and one Russian), and we get to take part in such military operations as the defense of Stalingrad or the Battle of Okinawa.

This console-only FPS shooter set in the realities of World War II is a sequel to the best-selling Medal of Honor series. In this part of the game, the developers from Electronic Arts focused on the fate of Corporal Frank Keegan from the American 82nd Airborne Division. Together with him and his comrades-in-arms we first land on Sicily, in order to move with the progress of military operations to the Rhine region and take part in a famous operation codenamed Varsity in March 1945.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour is a console version of the PC title Call of Duty that was created by Infinity Ward. It’s not a typical port but a sort of expansion that offers modified plot. The game contains six interweaving stories during which the player assumes the role of three soldiers of allied countries: USA, Great Britain and Soviet Union.

The creators have planned 15 dangerous missions played on 60 boards. The game also offers the option of multiplayer fun, in which 16 people can participate.
