Quake III: Revolution is the special version of Quake III: Arena (released on PCs at the end of 1999) only for PlayStation 2. This product combines the basic version with the expansion called Quake III: Team Arena.
Revolution offers six different kinds of multiplayer modes, such as death matches or capturing the flags. The multiplayer feature supports up to four players on the split-screen and fighting the AI. The opponents are controlled by the latter also stand in the player’s way in the single player campaign, allowing you to train a character from scratch. Beating challenges makes the character grow stronger, thanks to which it is more deadly.
The virtual reality consists of thirty 3D maps prepared with PS2 in mind. The arsenal is made up of 12 different kinds of deadly weapons, for example a fast-shooting rail gun, machine gun or mine launcher. The rich graphics is not, in fact, worse than that of the PC version of Quake III: Arena, and the sound layer has been enriched with new effects.
