I.G.I. Origins

I.G.I. Origins is the third installment of the cult series of spy shooters, started by the FPS entitled Project I.G.I., released in 2000. The game was developed by the Antimatter Games studio, whose portfolio includes Rising Storm 2: Vietnam. It was published by Toadman Interactive, the company holding the rights to the brand.

Plot

I.G.I. Origins is the prequel of the previous parts of the series. The action of this game was set in 1980. During the game we play as MI6 agent known as Regent, who works in Her Majesty's service and performs various tasks requiring discretion and acting "behind enemy lines". During the game we get to know not only secrets of the world standing on the threshold of nuclear war, but also we have a chance to see the process of birth of the Institute of Geotactical Intelligence (I.G.I.).

Mechanics

In I.G.I. Origins we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The game is divided into missions that take us to different parts of the world; it's worth noting that one of them takes place in Gdansk. Due to the open structure of the maps, we can complete the tasks in a variety of ways. Both an extensive arsenal and a wide range of gadgets inspired by spy action movies, including James Bond, help us. It's important to remember that while it's theoretically possible to "shoot your way to the target," it's usually much more sensible to operate in hiding, sneak behind the backs of enemies and quietly eliminate them, and carefully plan your every move.

Technical aspects

The graphic design of I.G.I. Origins presents a high level of quality. The developers have paid special attention to the models of weapons and enemies; moreover, the environment is pleasing to the eye with a variety of details, and the attention is also drawn to the realistic lighting.
