A side-scrolling 2D action game developed by Japanese studio Inti Creates. The story of Azure Striker Gunvolt takes place in the future in which the humanity is controlled by the powerful Sumeragi corporation. During the game the player assumes the role of a teenager who decides to stand against the tyranny and joins a rebellion. The gameplay mechanics are similar as in the genre classics, as the player travels through various levels filled with enemies and powerful bosses. Various weapons and special powers of the protagonist, who is able to control electricity, are used during the game. As the game progresses, the protagonist gains experience and access to many new and useful abilities. This allows him to, for example, increase the number of resources dropping from fallen enemies. These resources can then be used to create new equipment. The game has manga style visuals, similar to the Mega Man series.
