FIFA 23 Description
FIFA 23 is the next installment in the soccer game series, which has been developed by EA Sports studio for three decades. The 30th main installment of the series, like its predecessors, offers to play soccer matches in dozens of authentic stadiums from around the world. To this end, a number of licensed teams - both national and club teams - made up of faithfully reproduced players are placed in the hands of the player, who must be led to victory in single matches, all-season leagues and demanding tournaments. The game can be played in single- and multiplayer modes.
Game modes
In addition to the variants of play that are standard for recent installments of the series - such as Career Mode, FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), Volta Football and ProClubs, which have not received any major gameplay changes - the game also features men's (FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022) and women's (FIFA Woman's World Cup 2023 Australia and New Zealand 2023). They allow you to lead your country's national team of choice - both men's and women's - to the World Cup. These game modes will be released after the launch of the game.
One of the novelties in FIFA 23 is the ability to play a Career Mode as a famous manager - there are more than 350 of these, including such well-known personalities as Jürgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel. In addition, this mode has been enhanced with Playable Highlights and Playable Actions. The former allow you to make interventions at key moments of the match, without having to take part in the full ninety minutes. The latter are all sorts of situations and events on which the player - in his role as a player or team trainer - must make decisions. His choices can affect not only a single match or a season of club competition, but also his entire career and personality.
A new game mode, FUT Moments, has been added to the Ultimate Team. These are regularly updated challenges that allow you to play in short sittings. This was prepared mainly for beginners, for whom it provides a training arena before "real" challenges, but also for people who do not have time to play full matches in Ultimate Team. As a reward for completing more tasks, you receive a special currency - stars - which can be exchanged in the game's store for packs, cards and other FUT-specific items.
Licenses and clubs
Like its predecessors, FIFA 23 offers hundreds of licensed players and clubs. This time EA Sports has put in the hands of fans more than 19,000 realistically reproduced players, more than 100 stadiums, more than 700 teams with current squads - including, after a three-year hiatus, Italy's Juventus F.C. - and 30 leagues.
Among them, for the first time in the series' history, will be women's club teams. Like the men's teams, they can be played in various modes and led to league victory.
Graphics
The graphics in FIFA 23 has seen a huge improvement over those in the previous installment - mainly thanks to the use of HyperMotion 2 technology, which makes use of machine learning. Almost all elements of the virtual matches - from how players run the ball at their feet, to their dribbling, technical tricks, ways of assembling for shots and passes, and goalkeeper interventions - look better than ever before.
Compared to FIFA 22 and several previous installments of the series, the appearance of soccer fields has also been significantly improved in FIFA 23. The turfs have become lusciously green, making them more like their real-life counterparts than the gray grass on which virtual players ran starting with FIFA 18.
To the delight of PC gamers, HyperMotion technology has finally been implemented in the PC version of the game - significantly increasing its hardware requirements. Thus, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S owners can enjoy the same FIFA 23 experience.
What's more, thanks to the cross-play feature, they also gained the possibility to play together in all available online modes. Only owners of eighth-generation consoles - i.e. PS4 and XOne - are partially excluded from the fun, as they can only count on playing at home.
Cover
France national team striker and Paris Saint-Germain F.C. club striker Kylian Mbappe has become the face of the FIFA games for the third consecutive year. Interestingly, however, the cover of the Ultimate edition of FIFA 23 (as well as the basic version of the production dedicated to Australia and New Zealand) also features a woman, namely Australian soccer player Sam Kerr (owner Samantha May Kerr), who plays for Chelsea F.C. on a daily basis. She is the first female player in history to receive such an "honor", although female soccer teams have been featured in the series since FIFA 16.
