FIFA 23 'Punished' Cristiano Ronaldo for Moving to Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo has recorded a significant 'drop in form' in FIFA 23, with the Portuguese striker's rating dropping to its lowest level in 12 years.
Portuguese and world soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been on the tongues of the public for the past week due to a surprise transfer.
The 37-year-old footballer has been transferred to Saudi club Al-Nassr, where he will earn a 'modest' 200 million euros a year. The move to Saudi Arabia, however, has not gone unnoticed, including on the ground of virtual soccer - FIFA 23's Ronaldo in the colors of Al-Nassr lost significantly in player rating.
The weakest Ronaldo in years
On the day of the release of the latest FIFA the Portuguese striker represented the colors of Manchester United, to which he moved in 2021. For the launch in FIFA 23 Cristiano Ronaldo's rating was 90 points (which is still a drop of one point from the previous release).
After the move to Al-Nassr the player's rating dropped by two points and now stands at 88. While the difference doesn't seem significant, it's a big deal in the case of this player. The previous equally poor score for Ronaldo was recorded in FIFA 11, where it was 87.
If we look at the player's individual stats, we can see where Ronaldo has lost the most: the dribbling statistic has dropped to 81 (previously 84), and stamina to 70 (previously 74). Finishing and acceleration, among others, were also slightly weakened.
It can be said that FIFA 23 has, so to speak, 'punished' Ronaldo for moving to a less successful club. However, if you want to get rid of Cristiano Ronaldo cards from your FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) collection, rest assured - the change will only cover the career mode.
