On the ruins of New Eden
The future in 21,000 years. The Earth had long since been exploited, the Milky Way had been colonized, wars were breaking out over available resources, until a passageway to entirely new areas of the galaxy called New Eden was discovered. This resulted in the creation of new colonies and a network structure of a kind of gateway that connected these settlements to each other and to the rest of the places settled by humans. Until. When the passage to New Eden unexpectedly collapsed, the stranded colonies were put to a severe test, often tantamount to starvation.
The few who managed to survive created new communities and cultures, gradually forgetting their past and earthly roots over the following decades. Over time, five powerful factions capable of interplanetary travel emerged: Amarr Empire, Gallente Federation, Minmatar Republic, Jove Empire and Caldari State. Behind each of them is a different story and a different philosophy.
The players did this to other players
The EVE Online universe has so far failed to become famous for its rich and engaging lore. Big plans to create a TV series have so far come to nothing, only a free comic book was created. But it's hard not to see the phenomenon of this game, in which there are no scenarios, because everything depends on the behavior and activities of the players. In EVE Online everyone coexists in one game world, shapes its economy, politics, rules, decides on wars and alliances. Just as in the real world, military powers, corporations, wealth, friendships are created and destroyed. There are real spies, outlaws, men of honor, capable visionaries and a whole host of ordinary, undistinguished users imitating their cosmic activities.
Many companies have tried to transfer everyday life and human habits into virtual space, even calling their creations "second lives." Attempts have been made to simulate human life from start to finish in The Sims - but probably only EVE Online has succeeded in creating a virtual mirror image of our civilization. It would be hard to find a more true and realistic vision of the world of science fiction, in which no advances in science and technology will change human nature, our passions and weaknesses.
