Final Fantasy 1-5 Pixel Remaster - a classic in new clothes

  1. Developer: Square Enix
  2. Platforms: AND, iOS, PC
  3. Genre: jRPG
  4. Business model: premium

Our last position is not one game, but a whole set of them. This year, Square Enix has released remastered versions of the first five installments of the Final Fantasy series. There is also a similarly revised version of FF VI on the way, but we will have to wait for it until 2022.

All these games are absolute classics. The 4th and 5th installments are such masterpieces that they can easily compete with the best contemporary jRPGs, but the first three games of the series, although simpler, are also true gems that every fan of the genre should play.

Compared to the originals, the pixel remasters have better graphics, improved gameplay and music (which was supervised by the original composer - Nobuo Uematsu) and a lot of nice extras that make the game more enjoyable, such as the option to save at any time.

The release of the Pixel Remaster is a great opportunity to return to this series or rediscover it. Each of these games provides dozens of hours of top-level fun, and their two-dimensional graphics and turn-based combat systems perform especially well on touch screens.

The biggest advantages of this edition:

  1. the ability to replay five legendary jRPGs;
