Mechanics
Pokemon Unite is similar to other mobile strategy games like MOBA. The action of the game takes place on a typical map with bases belonging to both sides at two ends.We observe the world of the game from an isometric perspective, and the main goal of the game is to defeat the opposite team. Cooperation between team members plays a key role.
This game introduces two novelties to the well-known formula - firstly, the fun begins with catching the Pokemon present on the map, which we then use in the fight against our rivals. We gain Pokeballs by doing this. Secondly, we achieve victory not by destroying the enemy's base - we get them for making Pokeball dunks into virtual baskets with our Pokemon.
Traditionally for Pokemon series (and MOBA games), as the game progresses our creatures develop and gain new skills.
Game modes
In Pokemon Unite, we can play with others or battle Pokemon controlled by artificial intelligence. The core of the game is an online multiplayer mode designed for ten players (5 vs 5). It is worth noting that the game supports cross-platform gameplay - users of different gaming systems can play together.
Technical aspects
Pokemon Unite has quite a nice, three-dimensional graphic design. In this respect, production is not significantly different from other games based on the Pokemon license. The game offers a distinctive colour scheme and classic, manga style. The models of the individual pokemons are particularly noteworthy.
