An attempt to transfer the extremely popular World of Tanks from PCs and consoles to mobile devices. As in the case of the original, we are dealing with a free-to-play game, and the fun is based on historical tank clashes in different game modes.
World of Tanks Blitz is an attempt to repeat the success of the World of Tanks success on mobile devices. Just like the original, World of Tanks Blitz was developed by Wargaming.net. The game uses a free-to-play model with microtransactions. The game debuted in 2014 on mobile devices, both iOS and Android. A year and a half later, a special version of World of Tanks Blitz was released, designed for tablets and PCs with Windows 10. This version allows full cross-platform gameplay with owners of the smartphone version.
Mechanics
As mentioned above, the game is based on tank fights. Historical machines, mainly from the first half of the 20th century, can participate in the battles. The game features various modes, which are usually an "armored" variation of those known from other multiplayer games (especially team-based games). As far as the realism of the battlefield is concerned, the developers tried to find a good balance between an uncompromising simulation and an arcade game accessible to the mass audience. The available tanks have been divided into ten levels - the main objective of the game is to reach new ranks and gain access to increasingly better vehicles. The game also offers a wide variety of modifications and improvements of vehicles available in our garage.
Other information
The most important difference between World of Tanks Blitz and the original is the reduction of the number of tanks taking part in the clashes - in Blitz we have 14 machines on the battlefield (instead of 30). This version is also characterized by less detailed graphics, a slightly simplified driving system, and modified interface (to adjust it to the smartphones and tablets). World of Tanks Blitz also differs in terms of content - 90 tanks from three countries (USA, USSR, Germany) and 8 maps were offered at the start. Nevertheless, the game has evolved from an update to an update, offering improved graphics and more vehicles, arenas, game modes etc.
