- What I love about this quest: Being able to explore completely new worlds unlike anything I'd seen before in the game
- Rating: 8/10
If The Witcher 3 was created in 2022, the task "Through time and space" would certainly be used by the creators as a demonstration of the capabilities of new-gen consoles. Geralt and Avallach's journeys between worlds would be a perfect opportunity to flaunt the speed of SSDs, allowing you to move from place to place without any loading screens. The game came out a little earlier, however, and it's not all that spectacular, but I still think it's one of the most interesting missions in the entire game.
Geralt and Avallach visit various dimensions there – starting from a great Ddiddiwedht Desert, through a Poisoned Valley, a strange underwater world, all the way to Tilath na Buhne, a place destroyed by the White Frost. Apart from the storyline that leads to one of the several endings, Through Time and Space is one of the most diverse missions in the game. In about two hours, we travel through four completely different environments, unlike anything we have dealt with so far. Instead of focusing on searching for Ge'els (the general of the Wild Hunt that Avallac'h wanted to talk to), I explored every bit of the new map, raved about the unusual views, and was busy making beautiful-looking screenshots.
I actually forgot that all this exploration of other dimensions was just setting the scene for the final confrontation with the Wild Hunt – but who would care about it, when you could explore the Atlantis or kill some sandcrabs?
