What is Desperados 3?
Desperados III is another installment of the classic series of tactical games, which takes the formula familiar from the Commandos series and sets them in the American Old West. The last full-blown installment of the saga was released in 2006, so it truly has been a while. The game the creation of Mimimi Games, which are new to the Desperados releases, but are well-familiar to the fans of the genre as the developers of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun.
What is the gameplay like in Desperados 3?
The game takes us to the Wild West and allows us to control a group of colorful outlaws, each with unique abilities. They will undertake dangerous missions in territory overrun by the law and enemy gangs, which they will deal with using their wits, unique abilities and stealth. The action is shown from isometric perspective and focuses on overcoming problems quietly – even the fastest gunslinger won't stand a chance against superior numbers.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
I remember the joy when we learned that Mimimi Games will develop the third part of Desperados. Shadow Tactics was for me (and probably for many other players as well) a huge positive surprise and a great throwback to old ideas and mechanics – in modern form. I have already had the opportunity to play some missions from the beta version of Desperados III and I am confident that this time, the end result will be satisfactory. I just hope the authors used the extra time to balance the gameplay; Isabelle, for instance, was far more powerful than the rest of the team. I hope that the best strategy in the game won't be reduced to selecting the OP character.
